How to Setup Galaxies to Connect to a Server
This will guide you through setting up Galaxies so you can connect to a SWG Emu Server. You DO need a legal copy of Galaxies. You DO NOT need an active Station Accout (even if you are installing fresh)
Get the Requisite Files
- Install Galaxies
- Download patch_00.tre through patch_13.tre They're available from several places, and you only need those tre files.
- You need the SWGEmu Launcher, SWGEmu.exe
Configure The Game
- Create a shortcut to SWGEmu.exe and configure it correctly
- Create a shortcut
- [Right Click] -> Properties
- In the Target Field after the quoted executable, add the following
- -- -s Station subscriptionFeatures=1 gameFeatures=255
- Point the Client at the server
- Edit the Config File directly.
- Open swgemu_login.cfg
- Change the loginServerAddress0 variable to equal the IP Address of the server you want to connect to
- Change the port IF the server is using a nonstandard port. Most of the time it's the default.
- Slim Launchpad is a program to allow you to select what server to
connect to. Please note that you make sure the port is correct: 44453
There is a known issue with Slim aunchpad where it will change the port
on you.
Try Connecting
- For your first connect - connect only to a server you KNOW is up - otherwise you won't be able to tell if you've got it working or not.
- When it asks for a username and password, enter whatever you want to use. Most servers have Auto-Register set-up, meaning if you try to login with an account that isn't created yet, it will make one for you and let you create a character.
Fixing Emotes, Macros, Etc (Optional)
- Download http://home.comcast.net/~gailon24/ui_skill.inc by right clicking and pressing "save as"
- Next, go to your swg folder (default: C:Program FilesStarwarsGalaxies )
- Save it to your ui folder (C:Program FilesStarwarsGalaxiesui). If
you don't have a ui folder, make one named ui and save it in that.
